Gregor Trumbull vs Mike Lawlis

Boxing Daily Report from the Guyana National Finals 2026,  taking place on 26/03/2026 from Georgetown, Guyana:

The Georgetown venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Lightweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Gregor Trumbull (12 - 16(2)) who hails from Georgetown, Guyana and Mike Lawlis(16(1) - 25) from Linden, Guyana.  

Round 1: 

Trumbull sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Trumbull snaps his opponents head back with a ramrod jab.  Trumbull tries to land a cross, but Lawlis blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Lawlis gets on the inside.  Lawlis pivots to the side of his opponent, but Trumbull lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Trumbull steps away from his opponent.  Trumbull quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Trumbull lands a cross to the head, a jab to the body and a jab to the head.  
Lawlis sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut.  
Lawlis pivots from in front of his opponent.  Lawlis attempts to land a right hook, but Trumbull blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Lawlis is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  
Trumbull sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Trumbull finds the target with a jab.  
Lawlis gets on the inside and throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Trumbull hits home with a cross.  
Lawlis quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
Trumbull steps to the outside and lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Trumbull is looking to keep his distance.  Trumbull drops his hands, and waves his opponent in.  Lawlis connects with a cross.  
Trumbull steps away from his opponent.  Trumbull quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a jab.  
Lawlis gets on the inside.  Lawlis backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Trumbull steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  
Trumbull is on target with a cross.

Lawlis closes the distance and drives a left hook into his opponents liver.  
Trumbull steps away from his opponent and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Trumbull strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Trumbull tries to land a cross, but Lawlis slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Lawlis steps inside.  Trumbull sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Trumbull throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Trumbull tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a straight 1 - 2.  Trumbull tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Lawlis advances into close range.  Trumbull pivots to the side of his opponent, but Lawlis drives a left uppercut into Trumbull's body.
