Dai Darby vs John Taylor

Boxing Daily Report from the New Zealand National Finals 2026,  taking place on 11/04/2026 from Wellington, New Zealand:

The Wellington venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Dai Darby (1 - 1) who hails from North Shore, New Zealand and John Taylor(21 - 10) from Waitakere, New Zealand.

Taylor attempts to land a jab, but Darby parries the shot and counters with a right hook to Taylor's body.  
Darby is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Darby sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a cross.

Taylor forces Darby to retreat onto the ropes.  Taylor sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.
