Michael Haig vs Sam Proffitt

Boxing Daily Report from the New Zealand National Finals 2026,  taking place on 11/04/2026 from Wellington, New Zealand:

The Wellington venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Michael Haig (2 - 5) who hails from Auckland, New Zealand and Sam Proffitt(35(1) - 22) from Christchurch, New Zealand.  

Round 1: 

Proffitt drives a left hook into his opponents liver.

Proffitt throws a left hook, but his opponent steps away from the shot.  Proffitt ties up his opponent.  Haig pushes his forearm into Proffitt's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Haig to stop fouling.
