Shaun Nicholson vs Erorangi Kupa

Boxing Daily Report from the New Zealand National Finals 2026,  taking place on 11/04/2026 from Wellington, New Zealand:

The Wellington venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Super Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Shaun Nicholson (2 - 1) who hails from Manukau, New Zealand and Erorangi Kupa(8 - 5) from Manukau, New Zealand.  

Round 1: 

Kupa walks Nicholson down, trapping him in the blue corner.  Kupa lands a right hook.  
Kupa cuts off the ring, trapping Nicholson on the ropes.  Kupa hits home with a right hook.  
Kupa closes the distance.  Kupa quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and connects with a right hook.

Kupa gets on the inside and tries to land a left uppercut, but Nicholson blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Kupa sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Nicholson connects with a right hook.

Kupa gets on the inside.  Kupa sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Kupa closes the distance and digs in a right hook to Nicholson's body.  
Kupa lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Nicholson tries to keep the action at long range.  Nicholson quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Kupa lands a straight 1 - 2.
