Dave Lushina vs Kentay Mwala

Boxing Daily Report from the Zambia National Finals 2026,  taking place on 26/04/2026 from Lusaka, Zambia:

The Lusaka venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Dave Lushina (4 - 1) who hails from Ndola, Zambia and Kentay Mwala(11(1) - 12) from Lusaka, Zambia.  

Round 1: 

Mwala gets on the inside.  Lushina lands a left hook.  
Mwala steps to the outside and connects with a cross.  
Mwala is looking to close the distance and hits home with a sharp left hook.  Mwala tries to land a right uppercut, but Lushina dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Mwala quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the body.

Lushina steps away from his opponent.  Lushina sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Mwala lands with a stinging jab.  
Lushina sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Mwala gets on the inside and connects with a left uppercut.  Mwala throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Lushina switches the action to the outside and finds the target with a jab.  
Lushina throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Mwala advances into close range.  Lushina lands a left uppercut.  
Lushina switches the action to the outside.  Lushina sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Lushina throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.

Lushina tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.  
Mwala pivots to the right of his opponent and lands with a stiff jab.  
Mwala gets on the inside.  Mwala pivots to the side of his opponent, but Lushina lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Lushina backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Mwala tries to tag Lushina on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!
