Boxing Daily Report from the UAE National Finals 2026,  taking place on 02/05/2026 from Dubai, UAE:

The Dubai venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have the Final of the Super Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Farhan Alim (16 - 15) who hails from Dubai, UAE and Khalid Yakub(17(1) - 9) from Dubai, UAE.  

Round 1: 

Yakub lands a jab.

Yakub sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Alim is on target with a sharp left hook to Yakub's liver.  Alim tries to land a left hook, but Yakub blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Yakub closes the distance.  Alim is on target with a firm left hook.  
Yakub pivots to the right of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  
Alim is looking to keep his distance.  Alim sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Yakub tries to land a cross, but Alim blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Alim quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Alim's trainer is telling his fighter to play it safe for the remainder of the fight.

Alim sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Yakub lands with a spiteful jab.  
Alim connects with a cross.  
Yakub is on target with a stinging overhand right.  
Yakub walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Alim lands a left hook.  
Yakub tries to keep the action at long range and attempts to land a jab, but Alim sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Yakub gets on the inside and lands a right hook.  
Yakub is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Yakub quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands with a ramrod jab.  
Yakub is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Yakub pivots to the side of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  Yakub throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Alim to the neutral corner.  He has a stern word with Yakub and threatens a point deduction if continues to foul.
