Thorsten Gertner vs Aloysius Ambs

Boxing Daily Report from the Germany National Finals 2027,  taking place on 29/03/2027 from Regensburg, Germany:

The Regensburg venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Thorsten Gertner (9 - 4) who hails from Berlin, Germany and Aloysius Ambs(46(2) - 25) from Frankfurt, Germany.  

Round 1:

Ambs cuts off the ring, trapping Gertner in the corner.  Ambs lands a left hook.  
Gertner steps away from his opponent.  Gertner sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Ambs is on target with a solid cross.  
Ambs steps inside and hits home with a right hook.  
Ambs pivots from in front of his opponent and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.

Ambs lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.

Ambs closes the distance.  Ambs pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Gertner tries to keep the action at long range and attempts to land a jab, but Ambs slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Ambs closes the distance and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
It looks like Gertner has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Ambs pivots to the right of his opponent.  Gertner is on target with a sharp left hook to Ambs's liver.  Ambs ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Gertner pushes his forearm into Ambs's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Gertner to stop fouling.

Gertner is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Gertner sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a solid cross.  
Ambs is looking to close the distance and is on target with a sharp left uppercut to Gertner's liver.
