Boxing Daily Report from the Nicaragua National Finals 2027,  taking place on 14/04/2027 from Managua, Nicaragua:

The Managua venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Light Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Baltasar Grullon (15 - 11) who hails from Masaya, Nicaragua and Desiderio Don(23 - 24) from Managua, Nicaragua.  

Round 1: 

Grullon steps to the outside.  Don finds the target with a jab.

Grullon advances into close range and lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head.  
Don is looking to close the distance.  Don pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  
Don sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a left uppercut to Grullon's body.  
Don manages to force Grullon onto the ropes.  Don sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Grullon connects with a left uppercut.  
Don advances into close range.  Don steps back and leans on the ropes with his guard up.  Grullon accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Don.  
Don lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Grullon pivots to the right of his opponent, but Don lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Don digs in a left hook to Grullon's body.  
Grullon switches the action to the outside and attempts to land an overhand left, but Don blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Don's trainer is telling his fighter he is winning comfortably and should get on his bike for the remainder of the fight.
