Shamus McCorkle vs Ross Riley

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 11/08/2027 from Dublin, Ireland:

The Dublin venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Shamus McCorkle (41(2) - 39(18)) who hails from Dublin, Ireland and Ross Riley(4 - 18(4)) from Dublin, Ireland.  

Round 1: 

Riley is on target with a jab to his opponents body.  
Riley tries to land a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a solid right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Riley feints a jab and triggers a left uppercut counter from McCorkle.  Riley avoids the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
McCorkle closes the distance.  McCorkle sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Riley hits home with a sharp right hook.  Riley tries to land a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.  
McCorkle is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook.  
McCorkle pivots to the side of his opponent, but Riley lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
McCorkle steps to the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  McCorkle throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a solid right hook.  
McCorkle steps inside and connects with a sharp left hook.  
McCorkle is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Riley lands a jab followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.  
McCorkle gets on the inside.  McCorkle quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Riley lowers his guard, attempting to draw a lead.  McCorkle lands a stinging left hook.  
McCorkle lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Riley feints a left, and then connects with a left hook.  
Riley quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but McCorkle lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Riley is looking to close the distance and digs in a right hook to McCorkle's ribs.  
Riley throws a left hook, but McCorkle holds on to his opponent.  McCorkle throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee breaks the clinch and warns McCorkle to stop fouling.  
McCorkle lands a jab.

McCorkle pivots to the side of his opponent.  McCorkle lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  McCorkle tries to land a left hook, but Riley sidesteps and counters with a sharp left hook.  
McCorkle is looking to keep the action on the outside.  McCorkle feints a cross and triggers a left hook counter from Riley.  McCorkle springs the trap and counters with  a right hook.  
McCorkle switches the action to the outside and drives a jab into Riley's body.  
McCorkle finds the target with a jab.  
McCorkle drives a firm right hook into Riley's ribcage.  
McCorkle walks his opponent onto the ropes.  McCorkle drives a right hook into Riley's ribs.  
McCorkle is looking to close the distance.  McCorkle pivots to the side of his opponent.  McCorkle goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action and gives Riley time to recover.  
McCorkle gets on the inside and hits home with a sharp left uppercut.  
Riley throws a left hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  McCorkle ties up his opponent.  McCorkle leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
McCorkle throws a right hook, but the shot is blocked.  McCorkle clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, McCorkle pushes his forearm into Riley's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns McCorkle.  
McCorkle lands a jab followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  McCorkle tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook to McCorkle's ribcage.  
Riley pivots to the left of his opponent, but McCorkle is on target with a jab.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Riley's trainer is telling his fighter to go out and knock out his opponent!
