Nadir Basa vs Punhan Sheikh

Boxing Daily Report from the Azerbaijan National Finals 2028,  taking place on 14/03/2028 from Baku, Azerbaijan:

The Baku venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Super Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Nadir Basa (5 - 13) who hails from Sumqayit, Azerbaijan and Punhan Sheikh(25(1) - 16) from Baku, Azerbaijan.  

Round 1: 

Sheikh gets on the inside.  Sheikh pivots to the left of his opponent.  Basa throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  
Sheikh quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left uppercut.  
Sheikh gets on the inside and manages to force Basa onto the ropes.  Sheikh lands a stinging left hook.  
Sheikh sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Basa lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Sheikh pivots to the side of his opponent and digs in a stinging left hook to his opponents liver.  
Sheikh hits home with a solid right uppercut.  
Sheikh steps inside and lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Sheikh pivots from in front of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
Sheikh lands a left hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Basa steps inside and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.

Basa lands a sharp left hook.  Basa attempts to land a right uppercut, but Sheikh sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Sheikh advances into close range and manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Sheikh sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a left hook into Basa's body.  
Sheikh lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Basa switches the action to the outside and hits home with a cross.  
Basa is looking to close the distance.  Basa pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Basa steps to the outside and is on target with a cross.  
Sheikh gets on the inside.  Sheikh pivots from in front of his opponent and hits home with a left uppercut.  
Basa closes the distance and connects with a left hook.  
Sheikh is on target with a right hook to Basa's ribs.  
Sheikh sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Basa is looking to keep his distance and lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.

Sheikh forces Basa to back into the ropes.  Basa lands a right uppercut.  
Sheikh is on target with a jab.  
Basa is looking to keep his distance.  Sheikh lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Sheikh pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Basa steps inside.  Sheikh is on target with a sharp left hook to Basa's liver.  
Basa closes the distance and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Sheikh throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref ignores Basa's complaints and signals for the action to continue.

Sheikh sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Sheikh throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action and gives Basa time to recover.  
Sheikh pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Basa steps to the outside and hits home with a stinging cross.  Basa tries to land a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Sheikh is on target with a cross.  Sheikh throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Sheikh hits home with a stinging right uppercut.  
Sheikh lands a straight 1 - 2.
