Fraser Rodie vs Rich Carruthers

Boxing Daily Report from the New Zealand National Finals 2028,  taking place on 11/04/2028 from Waitakere, New Zealand:

The Waitakere venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Featherweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Fraser Rodie (14 - 15) who hails from North Shore, New Zealand and Rich Carruthers(39(2) - 10) from Manukau, New Zealand.

Rodie sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Carruthers hits home with a right hook.

Carruthers pivots to the right of his opponent, but Rodie hits home with a stinging right hook.  Rodie throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action and gives Carruthers time to recover.  
Carruthers closes the distance and is on target with a right hook.  
Rodie tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Carruthers's trainer is telling his fighter to play it safe for the remainder of the fight.
