Angel Olmedo vs Juan Pompa

Boxing Daily Report from the Mexico National Finals 2028,  taking place on 14/04/2028 from Ecatepec, Mexico:

The Ecatepec venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Middleweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Angel Olmedo (5 - 3(1)) who hails from Tijuana, Mexico and Juan Pompa(67(5) - 17) from Mexico City, Mexico.  

Round 1: 

Pompa gets on the inside and is on target with a right hook to Olmedo's body.

Pompa manouvers Olmedo into a neutral corner.  Pompa finds the target with a stiff jab.

Pompa sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Pompa is on target with a right hook to Olmedo's body.  Pompa clinches his opponent.  Pompa throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Pompa attempts to land a left hook, but Olmedo blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Pompa is on target with a left hook to Olmedo's body.  
Pompa drives a left uppercut into Olmedo's body.  
Pompa lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Pompa ties up his opponent.  Pompa pushes his forearm into Olmedo's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Pompa manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Pompa sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Pompa lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body.  Pompa clinches his opponent.  Olmedo leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Pompa is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Pompa to stop fouling.  
Pompa closes the distance.  Olmedo connects with a firm left hook.  
Pompa digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Olmedo is looking to keep his distance.  Pompa hits home with a cross.  
Pompa closes the distance.  Pompa sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Olmedo tries to land a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Olmedo steps to the outside.  Pompa is on target with a stinging jab.  
Pompa lands a left uppercut to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Olmedo throws a left hook, but Pompa ties up his opponent.  Pompa leans on his opponent using all his weight. Pompa tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Olmedo behind the head. 
Pompa lowers his guard, attempting to draw a lead.  Olmedo hits home with a cross.  
Pompa steps inside.  Olmedo throws a left hook, but Pompa clinches his opponent.  Pompa leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Pompa lands a right hook to the head, a left uppercut to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  Pompa holds on to his opponent.  Pompa leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Pompa's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Pompa gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a left hook to the head.  
Pompa quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Pompa hits home with a left hook.
