Boxing Daily Report from the Costa Rica National Finals 2029,  taking place on 17/03/2029 from San Jose, Costa Rica:

The San Jose venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have the Final of the Lightweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Guillermo Cruz (22 - 21) who hails from San Jose, Costa Rica and Ramiro Simon(11 - 16) from San Jose, Costa Rica.  

Round 1:

Cruz is looking to close the distance and tries to land a left hook, but Simon dodges the shot and counters with a stinging right uppercut to Cruz's ribcage.

Simon pivots to the side of his opponent.  Simon throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a firm left hook.  
Cruz is looking to close the distance and hits home with a firm left hook.  Cruz ties up his opponent.  Cruz pushes his forearm into Simon's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Cruz about fouling.  
Cruz lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Cruz clinches his opponent.  Cruz is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Simon pivots from in front of his opponent and hits home with a cross.

Cruz lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  Cruz holds on to his opponent.  Cruz is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Simon uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Cruz behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Simon.  
Simon is on target with a jab.  
Cruz is on target with a solid left hook to Simon's body.  
Cruz lands a left hook followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Cruz crashes a spiteful left hook to his opponents ribs.  SIMON IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 8.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Simon's trainer is telling his fighter to go out and knock out his opponent!

Cruz steps inside and lands a right uppercut.  
Cruz is on target with a left uppercut.  
Cruz gets on the inside and drives a left uppercut into his opponents liver.  
Simon feints a cross, and then lands a right uppercut followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Cruz is looking to close the distance and drives a left uppercut into Simon's body.  
Simon throws a left hook, but Cruz ties up his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Cruz sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a mean right hook.  SIMON IS DOWN!  HE FAILS TO BEAT THE COUNT!  The winner by KO is Cruz!
