Matti Vatoren vs Atro Hakonen

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 30/04/2029 from Turku, Finland:

The Turku venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Matti Vatoren (9 - 10) who hails from Espoo, Finland and Atro Hakonen(1 - 5) from Turku, Finland.  

Round 1: 

Vatoren switches the action to the outside and finds the target with a jab.  
Vatoren is on target with a sharp overhand right.  
Vatoren lands a cross.  
Hakonen advances into close range.  Vatoren lands a left hook.  
Hakonen connects with a left hook.  
Vatoren pivots to the right of his opponent, but Hakonen lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Hakonen hits home with a solid cross.  
Hakonen gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Vatoren tries to step out of his opponents range.  Vatoren sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a cross.  
Hakonen steps inside and walks Vatoren onto the ropes.  Hakonen lands a left hook.  
Vatoren switches the action to the outside and attempts to land a jab, but Hakonen sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Vatoren sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Hakonen hits home with a solid right hook.

Hakonen steps inside and is on target with a right hook.  Hakonen tries to land a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut to Hakonen's body.  
Hakonen walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Hakonen pivots to the side of his opponent, but Vatoren lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Vatoren is looking to keep his distance and is on target with a jab.  
Vatoren lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Vatoren hits home with a cross.  
Hakonen drives a left hook into Vatoren's ribs.  
Vatoren sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands with a stinging jab.  
Vatoren lands with a sharp jab.

Vatoren cuts off the ring, trapping Hakonen on the ropes.  Hakonen throws a left hook, but Vatoren holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Hakonen pushes his forearm into Vatoren's face.  The referee warns Hakonen and breaks the clinch.
