The Daegu venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.

As they grapple, Thomson pushes his forearm into Merckuloff's face.  The ref breaks Thomson's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  Merckuloff almost instantly gets his legs back.

Merckuloff uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Thomson behind the head. Thomson is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Thomson to stop fouling.  
Thomson attempts to land a jab, but Merckuloff slips the shot and counters with a left hook to Thomson's liver.  
Thomson lands two right uppercuts to the body, and one to the head.  
Thomson sidesteps to the right of his opponent and digs in a right uppercut to Merckuloff's body.  
Thomson connects with a right hook.  
Thomson lands a left hook, right hook and a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Thomson lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Thomson drives a stinging right hook into his opponents body.  Thomson ties up his opponent.  Thomson throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Thomson forces Merckuloff to retreat onto the ropes.  Thomson lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.
