Boxing Daily Report from the Nigeria National Finals 2030,  taking place on 11/04/2030 from Lagos, Nigeria:

The Lagos venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Shaun Amodu (31 - 12) who hails from Lagos, Nigeria and Ogenyi Obiekwu(22 - 11) from Aba, Nigeria.  

Round 1: 

Obiekwu sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Amodu lands a jab to the body, a cross to the head and a jab to the head.  
Amodu advances into close range and is on target with a left hook.

Obiekwu steps to the outside and tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Amodu gets on the inside.  Amodu pivots to the side of his opponent, but Obiekwu drives a right hook into Amodu's body.  
Amodu is looking to close the distance and throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Amodu gets on the inside.  Amodu sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Obiekwu lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Amodu connects with a cross.  
Amodu advances into close range.  Obiekwu tries to land a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.

Obiekwu lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Amodu tries to step out of his opponents range and hits home with an overhand right.  
Amodu drives a stinging right hook into Obiekwu's body.  IT LOOKS LIKE OBIEKWU WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Obiekwu tries to keep the action at long range.  Amodu senses Obiekwu is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Amodu drives a powerful left hook into his opponents body.  OBIEKWU IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 8.  
Amodu lands a left uppercut, left hook and a right uppercut to his opponents body, AND OBIEKWU IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is Amodu!
