Francisco Sotelo vs Juan Canchola

Boxing Daily Report from the Cuba National Finals 2031,  taking place on 11/03/2031 from Holguin, Cuba:

The Holguin venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Francisco Sotelo (28 - 30) who hails from Camaguey, Cuba and Juan Canchola(2 - 10) from Santiago de Cuba, Cuba.  

Round 1:

Sotelo advances into close range and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Sotelo clinches his opponent.  Sotelo is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Sotelo about fouling.  
Sotelo lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Sotelo sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a firm right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Sotelo lands a stinging right uppercut.  
Sotelo quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a stinging right hook.

Canchola throws a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Sotelo digs in a solid left hook to Canchola's body.  
Sotelo throws a left hook, but is off-target.  Sotelo clinches his opponent.  Sotelo is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Sotelo is looking to close the distance and connects with a right hook.  Sotelo ties up his opponent.  Canchola pushes his forearm into Sotelo's face.  The referee warns Canchola and breaks the clinch.  
Sotelo lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Canchola strikes his opponents body with a cross.

Sotelo crashes a hurtful right uppercut to his opponents body.  IT LOOKS LIKE CANCHOLA WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
It looks like Canchola has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.
