Boxing Daily Report from the Jamaica National Finals 2031,  taking place on 26/03/2031 from Kingston, Jamaica:

The Kingston venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Flyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Jamie Howat (28 - 12) who hails from New Kingston, Jamaica and Nicholas Welsh(11 - 16) from New Kingston, Jamaica.  

Round 1: 

Welsh is on target with a firm cross.

Welsh steps inside.  Howat throws a right hook, but his opponent steps away from the punch.  Howat ties up his opponent.  Welsh pushes his forearm into Howat's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Welsh about fouling.  
Howat steps away from his opponent.  Howat sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Welsh lands a solid cross.  
Welsh steps inside and forces Howat to back into the ropes.  Welsh connects with a right hook.  
Welsh is looking to keep his distance.  Howat lands with a stiff jab.
