Waqas Shah vs Paulo Rugasira

Boxing Daily Report from the Uganda National Finals 2031,  taking place on 02/05/2031 from Kampala, Uganda:

The Kampala venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have the Final of the Light Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Waqas Shah (11(1) - 5) who hails from Kampala, Uganda and Paulo Rugasira(11 - 11) from Kampala, Uganda.  

Round 1: 

Shah snaps his opponents head back with a stiff jab.  
Shah lands with a sharp jab.  
Rugasira pivots to the right of his opponent.  Rugasira tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Shah tries to keep the action at long range.  Shah feints a left, and then lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Shah finds the target with a jab.  
Shah feints a jab, but Rugasira does not fall for it and is on target with a sharp left uppercut.  
Rugasira advances into close range and is on target with a right hook.  
Shah finds the target with a jab.  
Rugasira connects with a sharp cross.  
Rugasira steps inside and drives a right hook into Shah's body.  
Shah hits home with a sharp cross.  
Rugasira closes the distance and manouvers Shah onto the ropes.  Shah drives a right uppercut into his opponents ribcage.

Rugasira quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Shah lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.

Shah switches the action to the outside.  Rugasira lands a cross.  
Shah feints a left, and then lands a jab.  
Shah feints a right hook, and then lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Shah feints a left hook, and then lands a cross to the head followed by a jab to the body.

Shah sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a jab to the body followed by a overhand right to the head.  
Rugasira advances into close range and manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Rugasira throws a left uppercut, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Shah clinches his opponent.  Shah uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Rugasira behind the head. Shah is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Shah.  
Rugasira lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Shah is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a ramrod jab.  
Shah feints a cross, and then lands a left hook.  
Shah tries to step out of his opponents range.  Shah drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Rugasira attempts to land a cross, but Shah dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Rugasira drives a stinging left hook into his opponents body.  
Shah hits home with a left hook.  Shah holds on to his opponent.  Rugasira tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Shah's kidney. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Rugasira steps inside.  Shah digs in a stinging right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Rugasira throws a left uppercut, but Shah ties up his opponent.  Shah is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Rugasira throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref breaks Shah's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Shah switches the action to the outside and lands an overhand left.  
Shah sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a solid jab.

Rugasira lands a left hook to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Shah switches the action to the outside and lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Shah feints a jab, fooling Rugasira into launching a right uppercut counter.  Shah avoids the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Shah lands a jab, overhand left and a cross to his opponents head.  
Shah connects with a cross.  
Shah feints a left hook, and then lands a ramrod jab.
