Martyn Gubay vs Akira Shiro

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 15/08/2031 from Honolulu, USA:

The Honolulu venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Martyn Gubay (0 - 0) who hails from Oklahoma City, USA and Akira Shiro(7 - 4) from Honolulu, USA.  

Round 1: 

Gubay is looking to keep his distance.  Shiro finds the target with a jab.  
Shiro is looking to close the distance.  Shiro sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Gubay drives a left hook into his opponents ribs.  
Shiro gets on the inside.  Shiro sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Shiro connects with a left uppercut.  Shiro ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Shiro pushes his forearm into Gubay's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Shiro is looking to close the distance and cuts off the ring, trapping Gubay in the corner.  Gubay throws a left hook, but Shiro clinches his opponent.  Shiro pushes his forearm into Gubay's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Shiro to stop fouling.  
Shiro advances into close range.  Gubay tries to land a left hook, but Shiro blocks the shot and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Gubay throws a left hook, but Shiro clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Gubay pushes his forearm into Shiro's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Gubay about fouling.  
Shiro lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.

Shiro closes the distance and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Shiro tries to land a left uppercut, but Gubay blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Gubay quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Shiro digs in a right uppercut to Gubay's body.  
Shiro quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Shiro lands a left hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Shiro walks Gubay into a corner.  Shiro throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Gubay to the neutral corner.  He tells Shiro he will lose a point if he continues to foul.  
Shiro is on target with a right hook to Gubay's ribs.  
Gubay sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Shiro is on target with a sharp cross.  
Shiro attempts to land a cross, but Gubay sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Shiro closes the distance and connects with a right hook.  
Shiro manages to force Gubay into the corner.  Shiro lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Gubay throws a right hook, but Shiro ties up his opponent.  Gubay is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Shiro's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Gubay throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook to Gubay's body.  
Shiro manouvers Gubay onto the ropes.  Shiro digs in a firm left hook to Gubay's liver.  
Shiro lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Shiro sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a left hook into Gubay's body.  
Shiro lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Shiro digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Gubay tries to land a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a sharp right hook.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Gubay's trainer is telling his fighter to go out and knock out his opponent!

Shiro forces Gubay to retreat into a corner.  Gubay throws a left hook, but Shiro ties up his opponent.  Gubay uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Shiro behind the head. Shiro is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Shiro throws a left uppercut, but is unable to find the target.  Shiro holds on to his opponent.  Shiro leans on his opponent using all his weight. Shiro tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Gubay's kidney. 
Shiro hits home with a right hook.  
Shiro steps inside and drives a sharp left hook into Gubay's body.  
Shiro connects with a right hook.  
Shiro digs in a powerful right uppercut to Gubay's body.  IT LOOKS LIKE GUBAY WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Gubay recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Shiro drives a left hook into Gubay's body.  
Gubay walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Gubay throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Shiro hits home with a right hook.  Shiro throws a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.
