Fausto Cobos vs Fresco Mantilla

Boxing Daily Report from the Americas Boxing Championships 2034,  taking place on 09/01/2034 from Maracay, Venezuela:

The Maracay venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Round of 16 fight in the Bantamweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Fausto Cobos (64 - 19) who hails from Ponce, Puerto Rico and Fresco Mantilla(3 - 2) from El Alto, Bolivia.  

Round 1: 

Mantilla drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Cobos lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.

Cobos closes the distance.  Mantilla connects with a firm left hook.  Cobos ties up his opponent.  Cobos is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks Cobos's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Cobos is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Cobos sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with an overhand left.

Cobos gets on the inside and whips in a big right hook to his opponents body.  MANTILLA WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Cobos clinches his opponent.  Cobos throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Cobos about fouling.

Cobos advances into close range and lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  Cobos holds on to his opponent.  Cobos leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Mantilla throws a right hook, but Cobos holds on to his opponent.  Cobos leans on his opponent using all his weight. Mantilla pushes his forearm into Cobos's face.  The ref breaks Cobos's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Cobos steps inside and connects with a left hook.  
Cobos gets on the inside.  Mantilla throws a left hook, but Cobos ties up his opponent.  Cobos tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Mantilla's kidney. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Cobos.  
Cobos lands with a stiff jab.  
Cobos steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Mantilla throws a left uppercut, but Cobos clinches his opponent.  Cobos leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Cobos throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Cobos.  
Cobos manouvers his opponent into the red corner.  Cobos lands a left hook.  
Cobos is on target with a firm left uppercut to Mantilla's body.  
Cobos lands a right uppercut.  Cobos holds on to his opponent.  Cobos leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Cobos slams a spiteful left uppercut into his opponents ribs.  MANTILLA WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Cobos senses Mantilla is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Cobos lands a left uppercut, right hook and a left uppercut to his opponents body.  He then lands a right hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a cross to the head.  Mantilla now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Cobos pivots from in front of his opponent.  Cobos lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  Cobos ties up his opponent.  Cobos uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Mantilla's kidney. Cobos is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Cobos lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Cobos sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Mantilla throws a left hook, but Cobos holds on to his opponent.  Cobos uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Mantilla behind the head. 
Cobos gets on the inside and is on target with a left uppercut.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Mantilla's trainer is telling his fighter he needs a knockout to win!

Cobos lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Cobos ties up his opponent.  Cobos is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Cobos to stop holding.  Cobos tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  Mantilla quickly recovers. 
Cobos cuts off the ring, trapping Mantilla in the blue corner.  Cobos digs in a firm left hook to Mantilla's body.  
Mantilla snaps his opponents head back with a stiff jab.  
Mantilla finds the target with a jab.  
Cobos closes the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, AND MANTILLA IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He tries to rise on shaky legs but Mantilla cant beat the count!  The winner by KO is Cobos!
