Patrick Mohan vs John Hughes

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 18/01/2034 from Dublin, Ireland:

The Dublin venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Patrick Mohan (1 - 9) who hails from Dublin, Ireland and John Hughes(7 - 20) from Dublin, Ireland.  

Round 1: 

Hughes forces Mohan to retreat onto the ropes.  Mohan digs in a left hook to Hughes's body.  
Hughes throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Hughes clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Hughes pushes his forearm into Mohan's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Hughes.  
Mohan quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Hughes connects with a stinging cross.  
Hughes digs in a sharp left hook to Mohan's liver.  
Hughes connects with a stinging left hook.  
Hughes lands a cross followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Hughes gets on the inside and is on target with a solid right uppercut.  
Mohan gets on the inside and tries to land a right uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Hughes finds the target with a jab.  
Mohan is looking to close the distance.  Hughes lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Mohan throws a left uppercut, but Hughes ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Mohan pushes his forearm into Hughes's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Mohan about fouling.  
Hughes connects with a solid left hook.

Hughes is keeping his hands low...it looks like he wants his opponent to throw first.  Mohan tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Hughes throws a left uppercut, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Hughes holds on to his opponent.  Mohan leans on his opponent using all his weight. Mohan tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Hughes's kidney. The referee warns Mohan and breaks the clinch.  
Hughes lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Hughes is on target with a solid left hook.  
Hughes lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Hughes is on target with a left hook.  
Hughes is on target with a firm right hook to Mohan's body.  Hughes ties up his opponent.  Hughes is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Hughes manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Mohan lands a left uppercut.  Hughes holds on to his opponent.  Hughes tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Mohan behind the head.

Mohan throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Hughes's complaints and signals for the action to continue.
