Boxing Daily Report from the Jamaica National Finals 2034,  taking place on 26/03/2034 from Spanish Town, Jamaica:

The Spanish Town venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Lightweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are David Torrens (12 - 21) who hails from Spanish Town, Jamaica and Gus Hughson(2 - 15) from New Kingston, Jamaica.  

Round 1: 

Torrens hits the target with a sharp jab.  
Torrens is looking to keep his distance.  Torrens circles his opponent with a low guard, waiting for his opponent to attack.  Hughson throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.

Torrens tries to keep the action at long range.  Torrens feints a right hook, and then lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Hughson is looking to close the distance and walks Torrens onto the ropes.  Hughson pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a right uppercut.  
Hughson tries to land a right uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Torrens throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
Hughson advances into close range.  Torrens hits home with a firm left uppercut.  
Hughson lands a stinging right uppercut.  
Torrens tries to step out of his opponents range.  Hughson hits home with an overhand left.  Hughson tries to land a jab, but Torrens sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Torrens connects with a cross.  
Hughson advances into close range.  Torrens drives a left hook into Hughson's body.  Torrens ties up his opponent.  Torrens leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.

Torrens attempts to land a jab, but Hughson dodges the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Hughson advances into close range.  Hughson sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Torrens is on target with a left hook to Hughson's liver.  
Hughson is looking to close the distance and walks his opponent into the red corner.  Torrens lands a left hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Hughson recovers before his opponent can take advantage.
