Dave Mabie vs Leo Bankhead

Boxing Daily Report from the Jamaica National Finals 2035,  taking place on 26/03/2035 from Kingston, Jamaica:

The Kingston venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Bantamweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Dave Mabie (26 - 13) who hails from Spanish Town, Jamaica and Leo Bankhead(5 - 1) from Spanish Town, Jamaica.  

Round 1: 

Mabie gets on the inside.  Mabie quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and digs in a solid right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Bankhead sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Mabie lands a cross.  
Mabie closes the distance.  Bankhead connects with a right hook.  Bankhead tries to land a left uppercut, but Mabie parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Mabie leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Bankhead is whaling away with hooks, but Mabie keeps his defence tight.  Bankhead is on target with a right uppercut.  
Mabie closes the distance and lands a solid left hook.  
Bankhead throws a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Mabie lands a ramrod jab.  
Mabie advances into close range and lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Bankhead pivots to the left of his opponent and lands with a spiteful jab.  
Mabie is looking to close the distance and hits home with a left uppercut.  
Bankhead lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Bankhead steps to the outside.  Mabie tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Bankhead is keeping his hands low...it looks like he wants his opponent to throw first.  Mabie attempts to land a jab, but Bankhead blocks the shot and counters with a cross.

Bankhead pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a straight 1 - 2.  Bankhead throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action and gives Mabie time to recover.

Mabie is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Mabie tries to land a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Bankhead drives a firm right uppercut into Mabie's body.  
Mabie gets on the inside.  Bankhead is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  Bankhead attempts to land a left uppercut, but Mabie slips the shot and counters with a cross.
