Santiago Mateo vs Roth Strackbein

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 11/04/2035 from Montevideo, Uruguay:

The Montevideo venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Santiago Mateo (4 - 1) who hails from Montevideo, Uruguay and Roth Strackbein(1 - 8(2)) from Karlsruhe, Germany.  

Round 1: 

Mateo advances into close range.  Strackbein throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
Mateo lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Strackbein drives a sharp cross into Mateo's body.  
Mateo lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Strackbein forces Mateo to back into the ropes.  Strackbein is on target with a left hook.  
Mateo advances into close range.  Mateo sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Strackbein lands a right uppercut.  
Mateo gets on the inside and tries to land a left uppercut, but Strackbein blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Strackbein steps to the outside and hits home with an overhand right.  
Strackbein throws a left hook, but Mateo holds on to his opponent.  Mateo is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Mateo.  
Strackbein tries to step out of his opponents range.  Mateo lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Strackbein pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a jab to Mateo's body.  
Mateo gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Mateo holds on to his opponent.  Strackbein throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Strackbein.  
Strackbein is on target with a left hook.  
Mateo drives a stinging left hook into Strackbein's body.  Mateo ties up his opponent.  Mateo tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Strackbein behind the head. 
Strackbein is on target with a jab.

Strackbein throws a left hook, but Mateo holds on to his opponent.  Mateo leans on his opponent using all his weight. Mateo throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Mateo lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Mateo advances into close range and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Mateo clinches his opponent.  Mateo leans on his opponent using all his weight. Mateo tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Strackbein behind the head. The referee warns Mateo and breaks the clinch.  
Mateo closes the distance and lands a left uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head.  
Strackbein feints a left hook, and then lands a cross followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Strackbein is looking to keep his distance and hits home with a cross.  
Mateo steps inside.  Mateo quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Strackbein throws a left hook, but Mateo clinches his opponent.  Strackbein leans on his opponent using all his weight. Mateo tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Strackbein's kidney. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Mateo about fouling.

Mateo stalks his opponent...he just needs the right shot to put his opponent away!  Mateo drives a potent left hook into Strackbein's ribs.  STRACKBEIN IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 6.  It looks like Strackbein has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.

Mateo gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.
