Majid Hoque vs Chen Wen

Boxing Daily Report from the Malaysia National Finals 2035,  taking place on 11/04/2035 from Johor Bahru, Malaysia:

The Johor Bahru venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Lightweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Majid Hoque (42 - 8(1)) who hails from Shah Alam, Malaysia and Chen Wen(5 - 3) from Kuching, Malaysia.  

Round 1: 

Hoque advances into close range and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Hoque hits home with a left hook.  Hoque ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Hoque pushes his forearm into Wen's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Hoque advances into close range and manouvers Wen onto the ropes.  Hoque pivots to the side of his opponent.  Hoque throws a left uppercut, but his opponent steps away from the shot.  Hoque clinches his opponent.  Hoque is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. As they grapple, Hoque pushes his forearm into Wen's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Hoque lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  He continues the combination and lands two right hook's to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Wen feints a left hook, but Hoque does not fall for it and lands with a right hook to Wen's body.  
Hoque digs in a right uppercut to Wen's body.  Hoque attempts to land a left hook, but Wen slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Hoque backs onto the ropes...he is waving his opponent in!  Wen is whaling away with hooks, but Hoque keeps his defence tight.  
Hoque tries to keep the action at long range and connects with a sharp cross.  
Hoque closes the distance.  Wen throws a right hook, but Hoque clinches his opponent.  Hoque pushes his forearm into Wen's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Hoque about fouling.  
Hoque closes the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Hoque steps inside.  Wen pivots to the side of his opponent.  Hoque connects with a sharp left hook.  Hoque throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Hoque gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Hoque lands a left uppercut to the head, a left hook to the body and a left uppercut to the body.  
Wen quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Hoque lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Wen pivots to the right of his opponent.  Wen throws a left hook, but Hoque ties up his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Wen is looking to keep the action on the outside and hits home with a solid cross.  Wen throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Hoque is looking to close the distance and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Wen tries to step out of his opponents range.  Hoque is on target with a cross.  
Wen pivots to the right of his opponent.  Wen throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a right uppercut to Wen's body.  
Hoque gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Hoque's trainer is telling his fighter he is winning comfortably and should get on his bike for the remainder of the fight.
