Amer Akif vs Hilario Alvaro

Boxing Daily Report from the Riyadh World Boxing Championships 2035,  taking place on 13/09/2035 from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia:

The Riyadh venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching the broadcast live from around the world, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Amer Akif (41 - 10) who hails from Al Hudaydah, Yemen and Hilario Alvaro(67(2) - 10) from San Juan, Puerto Rico.  

Round 1: 

Alvaro attempts to land a jab, but Akif blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Alvaro hits home with a cross.  Alvaro tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Akif advances into close range.  Alvaro throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm cross.

Akif walks Alvaro into a neutral corner.  Alvaro attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action and gives Akif time to recover.

Alvaro drives a stinging left hook into Akif's ribs.  
Alvaro feints a left hook, and then lands a jab followed by a left hook to his opponents head.

Alvaro pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a firm left hook.  
Alvaro feints a cross, and then is on target with a left uppercut.  
Akif strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Akif switches the action to the outside.  Alvaro lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Akif pivots to the right of his opponent, but Alvaro lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Alvaro lands a right hook followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Akif connects with a cross.  
Akif gets on the inside.  Alvaro lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Alvaro's trainer is telling his fighter he is winning comfortably and should get on his bike for the remainder of the fight.

Alvaro throws a right hook, but is unable to find the target.  Alvaro holds on to his opponent.  Akif is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks Alvaro's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Alvaro tries to step out of his opponents range and lands with a ramrod jab.  Alvaro tries to land an overhand left, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Alvaro lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Alvaro lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Akif is looking to close the distance and walks Alvaro down, trapping him on the ropes.  Alvaro is on target with a right hook.

At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Akif's trainer is telling his fighter to go out and knock out his opponent!

Akif steps inside.  Alvaro senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Akif and just needs the right shot.  Alvaro lands a cross followed by a right hook to his opponents head, AND AKIF IS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  It looks like Akif has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
Akif advances into close range.  Alvaro pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a left uppercut.  Alvaro throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Akif's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Alvaro steps to the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Alvaro senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Alvaro connects with a SAVAGE left hook.  AKIF HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 8.  
Alvaro lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  He then lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head, AND DOWN GOES AKIF!  The ref does not give Akif the chance to beat the count...The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Alvaro!
