Santiago Escandon vs Xavion Zamora

Boxing Daily Report from the Cuba National Finals 2020,  taking place on 11/03/2020 from Camaguey, Cuba:

The Camaguey venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Featherweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Santiago Escandon (9 - 6) who hails from Havana, Cuba and Xavion Zamora(12 - 2) from Havana, Cuba.  

Round 1: 

Zamora steps inside.  Zamora pivots to the side of his opponent, but Escandon lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Zamora is looking to close the distance.  Zamora pivots to the right of his opponent, but Escandon lands a left uppercut.  
Zamora manouvers Escandon onto the ropes.  Escandon is on target with a right hook.

Zamora closes the distance and lands a right uppercut.  
Zamora hits home with a left uppercut.  
Escandon tries to keep the action at long range and lands with a stinging jab.

Zamora manages to force Escandon onto the ropes.  Escandon drives a right hook into Zamora's body.  
Escandon switches the action to the outside and throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Zamora quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a jab.

Escandon sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Zamora attempts to land a cross, but Escandon sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Zamora is looking to close the distance and throws a left uppercut, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.
