Boxing Daily Report from the Dominican Republic National Finals 2020,  taking place on 11/03/2020 from Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic:

The Santiago de los Caballeros venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Featherweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Vicente Alpizar (7 - 3) who hails from Santo Domingo de Guzman, Dominican Republic and Ximen Sanz(11(1) - 1) from San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic.

Sanz pivots to the side of his opponent, but Alpizar lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Alpizar lands a left uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Sanz throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action and gives Alpizar time to recover.  
Alpizar switches the action to the outside and strikes his opponents body with a cross.  
Alpizar is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Alpizar sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a cross to the head, a jab to the body and a cross to the head.  
Sanz connects with a right uppercut.  
Alpizar is looking to keep his distance and snaps his opponents head back with a sharp jab.  
Sanz steps inside and is on target with a right hook to Alpizar's ribs.  
Alpizar pivots from in front of his opponent and is on target with a left hook.  
Alpizar steps away from his opponent.  Alpizar sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands an overhand right.  
Alpizar attempts to land a jab, but Sanz slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Alpizar hits home with a cross.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Alpizar's trainer is telling his fighter he is a mile in front and not to do anything stupid. Sanz's trainer is telling his fighter he must go to war on his opponent!

Sanz lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Alpizar steps to the outside and lands with a stiff jab.  
Sanz lands a cross.  
Alpizar switches the action to the outside and lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Sanz gets on the inside and cuts off the ring, trapping Alpizar in the red corner.  Sanz connects with a right uppercut.
