Charles Webb vs Matt Prothro

Boxing Daily Report from the Canada National Finals 2020,  taking place on 14/03/2020 from Mississauga, Canada:

The Mississauga venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Light Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Charles Webb (10 - 4) who hails from Markham, Canada and Matt Prothro(13 - 0) from Lonueuil, Canada.  

Round 1: 

Webb lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Prothro is looking to close the distance.  Prothro pivots to the right of his opponent, but Webb hits home with a left hook.  
Prothro pivots from in front of his opponent, but Webb hits home with a left hook.  
Webb switches the action to the outside and lands a solid jab.  
Prothro tries to step out of his opponents range and throws an overhand right, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Prothro steps inside.  Prothro pivots to the left of his opponent.  Prothro throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a stinging left hook.  
Prothro gets on the inside.  Prothro quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
Prothro tries to land a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Prothro sidesteps to the right of his opponent and digs in a left hook to Webb's body.  
Webb steps to the outside.  Webb feints a jab, tricking Prothro into launching a left uppercut counter.  Webb springs the trap, countering with  a left uppercut.  
Webb tries to step out of his opponents range.  Webb feints a jab, but Prothro does not fall for it and responds with a left uppercut.  
Webb quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Prothro lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Webb's trainer is advising his fighter to keep his distance and coast to the win.

Webb throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.
