Brendan Cron vs Glynn Lay

Boxing Daily Report from the Guyana National Finals 2020,  taking place on 26/03/2020 from Georgetown, Guyana:

The Georgetown venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Flyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Brendan Cron (14 - 2) who hails from Georgetown, Guyana and Glynn Lay(6 - 9) from Linden, Guyana.  

Round 1: 

Lay throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Cron steps to the outside.  Cron feints a right, and then tries to land a jab, but Lay dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Lay tries to land a jab, but Cron sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Cron drives a right hook into his opponents ribcage.  
Lay connects with a left hook.  
Cron sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Cron connects with a firm left hook.  
Cron pivots to the left of his opponent and finds the target with a jab.  
Cron closes the distance.  Cron pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.  
Lay steps inside.  Lay quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Cron lands a right hook.  
Lay manages to force Cron into a corner.  Lay digs in a left hook to Cron's body.  
Cron lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Lay finds the target with a jab.  
Lay walks Cron down, trapping him on the ropes.  Cron throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Cron's trainer is advising his fighter to keep his distance and coast to the win.
