Joe Finlay vs Jonathan Biven

Boxing Daily Report from the Jamaica National Finals 2020,  taking place on 26/03/2020 from Spanish Town, Jamaica:

The Spanish Town venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Featherweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Joe Finlay (8(1) - 7) who hails from Kingston, Jamaica and Jonathan Biven(14(1) - 1) from New Kingston, Jamaica.  

Round 1: 

Finlay is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a sharp cross.  
Biven closes the distance and walks his opponent down, trapping him in the corner.  Finlay lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the body.  
Finlay lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Biven lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Biven lands a left uppercut.  
Biven lands a right hook to the body followed by a cross to the head.

Biven switches the action to the outside and attempts to land a cross, but Finlay sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Biven attempts to land a left uppercut, but Finlay blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Biven lands a jab to Finlay's body.  Biven throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a firm left hook.  
Biven steps inside and connects with a left hook.  
Finlay advances into close range and throws a left hook, but Biven clinches his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Finlay throws a right hook, but Biven clinches his opponent.  Finlay tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Biven behind the head. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Finlay to stop fouling.

Biven steps inside.  Finlay throws a right hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Biven ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Finlay pushes his forearm into Biven's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Finlay about fouling.  
Finlay tries to keep the action at long range and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Biven pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a cross to his opponents body.  
Biven hits home with a right hook.  Biven holds on to his opponent.  Finlay uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Biven behind the head. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Biven lands a left hook.  
Biven steps inside.  Biven pivots to the left of his opponent.  Finlay throws a right hook, but Biven holds on to his opponent.  Finlay hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. Biven pushes his forearm into Finlay's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Biven to stop fouling.  
Biven is looking to close the distance and digs in a right hook to Finlay's body.  
Biven lands with a ramrod jab.  Biven attempts to land a jab, but Finlay sidesteps and counters with a solid right uppercut.  
Biven throws a left hook, but is not on target.  Biven holds on to his opponent.  Biven leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Biven's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Biven is on target with a right hook to Finlay's body.
