Faisal Ayan vs Moses Bassey

Boxing Daily Report from the Nigeria National Finals 2020,  taking place on 11/04/2020 from Okpoko, Nigeria:

The Okpoko venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Faisal Ayan (2 - 11) who hails from Port Harcourt, Nigeria and Moses Bassey(15 - 0) from Umuahia, Nigeria.  

Round 1: 

Bassey closes the distance.  Bassey pivots to the left of his opponent, but Ayan connects with a left hook.

Bassey advances into close range and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Bassey steps away from his opponent and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Ayan advances into close range.  Ayan sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right uppercut.  
Bassey quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.  
Ayan switches the action to the outside.  Ayan feints a jab, tricking Bassey into throwing a left hook counter.  Ayan springs the trap and counters with  a cross.  
Ayan is looking to close the distance.  Bassey lands a left uppercut.

Ayan is on target with a right hook to Bassey's body.  Ayan throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref ignores Bassey's complaints and signals for the action to continue.

Bassey is looking to keep the action on the outside and hits home with an overhand right.
