Mikhail Akhverdiyev vs Angel Cornelio

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 27/10/2037 from Dushanbe, Tajikistan:

The Dushanbe venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Mikhail Akhverdiyev (6 - 2) who hails from Dushanbe, Tajikistan and Angel Cornelio(5 - 10) from Quito, Ecuador.  

Round 1: 

Akhverdiyev gets on the inside and is on target with a solid left hook.  
Cornelio steps away from his opponent and finds the target with a jab.  
Akhverdiyev steps inside.  Cornelio drives a left hook into his opponents body.  Cornelio attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Akhverdiyev to the neutral corner.  He tells Cornelio he will lose a point if he continues to foul.  
Cornelio pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a stiff jab.  
Cornelio switches the action to the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Cornelio is on target with a hard jab.  Cornelio throws a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Akhverdiyev connects with a cross.  
Akhverdiyev is on target with a stinging left hook.  
Cornelio is looking to keep his distance and is on target with a jab.  
Cornelio quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Akhverdiyev lands a jab to the body, a cross to the body and a jab to the head.  
Akhverdiyev forces Cornelio to back into the red corner.  Akhverdiyev is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Akhverdiyev is on target with a left uppercut.  
Akhverdiyev lands a right uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Akhverdiyev drives a left uppercut into his opponents ribs.  
Akhverdiyev is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Akhverdiyev lands a jab.

Akhverdiyev throws a left uppercut, but misses the target.  Akhverdiyev holds on to his opponent.  Cornelio is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Akhverdiyev finds the target with a hard jab.  
Cornelio tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm left hook.  
Akhverdiyev closes the distance and hits home with a stinging left hook.  
Cornelio is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a spiteful jab.  
Cornelio digs in a firm left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Akhverdiyev lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Akhverdiyev lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Cornelio pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a hard jab.

Akhverdiyev steps inside.  Cornelio lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Cornelio throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
Cornelio quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Akhverdiyev hits home with a stinging cross.  
Akhverdiyev advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Akhverdiyev is looking to close the distance.  Akhverdiyev pivots to the side of his opponent.  Akhverdiyev attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Cornelio's complaints and signals for the action to continue.
