The Fukuoka venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Raiden Shimabukuro (9 - 1) who hails from Fukuoka, Japan and David Connelly(11 - 23) from Londonderry, UK.  

Round 1: 

Shimabukuro tries to keep the action at long range and finds the target with a sharp jab.  
Shimabukuro lands an overhand left followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Connelly drives a right hook into Shimabukuro's ribs.  
Connelly is looking to close the distance and is on target with a left hook.  
Connelly pivots to the left of his opponent.  Connelly throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Connelly is on target with a jab.  
Connelly steps inside and digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Shimabukuro is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Connelly tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.

Connelly quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Connelly gets on the inside and manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Connelly quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Connelly attempts to land a right hook, but Shimabukuro sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut to Connelly's body.  
Connelly hits home with a left uppercut.  
Connelly drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Shimabukuro lands a left hook.  
Connelly drives a right hook into Shimabukuro's body.  
Connelly throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action and gives Shimabukuro time to recover.  
Connelly pivots to the left of his opponent.  Connelly lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Connelly throws a right uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Shimabukuro tries to land a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a cross.  
Shimabukuro tries to step out of his opponents range.  Shimabukuro sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a cross.  
Connelly steps inside and walks Shimabukuro into the corner.  Shimabukuro connects with a left uppercut.
