Michael Rowand vs Gig Matalon

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 17/01/2038 from Los Angeles, USA:

The Los Angeles venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Michael Rowand (4 - 3) who hails from Modesto, USA and Gig Matalon(0 - 1) from Ecatepec, Mexico.  

Round 1: 

Rowand steps inside and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  He then lands a double left hook to his opponents head.

Rowand sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Matalon lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Matalon gets on the inside and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Rowand tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Rowand advances into close range.  Rowand pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a right hook to Matalon's ribs.  
Rowand advances into close range.  Matalon lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Rowand steps to the outside and tries to land a jab, but Matalon slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Matalon is on target with a jab.  
Matalon gets on the inside and is on target with a right hook to Rowand's body.  
Rowand connects with a left hook.  
Matalon is on target with a left uppercut.

Rowand gets on the inside and digs in a stinging right hook to Matalon's body.  
Matalon is looking to close the distance.  Rowand is on target with a sharp right hook to his opponents body.  
Rowand voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Matalon accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Rowand.  
Matalon tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Rowand advances into close range and connects with a firm right hook.  
Matalon throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook to his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Rowand's trainer is telling his fighter he is a mile in front and not to do anything stupid. Matalon's trainer is telling his fighter he must go to war on his opponent!
