Lewis Jongwe vs Vince Mnkandla

Boxing Daily Report from the Zimbabwe National Finals 2020,  taking place on 26/04/2020 from Harare, Zimbabwe:

The Harare venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Lewis Jongwe (11(1) - 2) who hails from Harare, Zimbabwe and Vince Mnkandla(13 - 2) from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.  

Round 1: 

Jongwe pivots to the side of his opponent, but Mnkandla lands a hard jab.  
Jongwe steps inside.  Mnkandla connects with a left hook.  
Mnkandla tries to land a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Jongwe is on target with a jab.

Jongwe sidesteps to the left of his opponent and digs in a left hook to Mnkandla's body.  
Mnkandla switches the action to the outside and throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Jongwe sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Mnkandla tries to land a jab, but Jongwe dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Mnkandla feints a right, and then lands with a hard jab.  
Mnkandla steps to the outside and lands with a stinging jab.  
Jongwe gets on the inside.  Mnkandla digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Mnkandla lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  Jongwe lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Jongwe lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Mnkandla hits home with a solid jab.  
Mnkandla throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook to Mnkandla's body.

Jongwe voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Mnkandla is whaling away with hooks, but Jongwe keeps his defence tight.
