John Wardrop vs Patrick Hastings

Boxing Daily Report from the Jamaica National Finals 2038,  taking place on 26/03/2038 from Spanish Town, Jamaica:

The Spanish Town venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Middleweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are John Wardrop (15 - 16) who hails from Kingston, Jamaica and Patrick Hastings(4 - 6) from Portmore, Jamaica.  

Round 1: 

Hastings lands a sharp left hook.

As they grapple, Hastings pushes his forearm into Wardrop's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Hastings to stop fouling.  
Wardrop tries to step out of his opponents range.  Wardrop waits at the mid-range with a lowered guard, waiting for his opponent to throw a punch.  Hastings hits home with a cross.  
Hastings advances into close range and forces Wardrop to retreat into a neutral corner.  Wardrop connects with a right uppercut.

Hastings forces Wardrop to retreat onto the ropes.  Wardrop digs in a right hook to Hastings's body.  Wardrop clinches his opponent.  Hastings leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Hastings hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Hastings about fouling.
