Peter Renfrew vs Alec Mateer

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 27/06/2038 from Chicago, USA:

The Chicago venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Peter Renfrew (65(3) - 10) who hails from Rockford, USA and Alec Mateer(5 - 14) from Pueblo, USA.  

Round 1: 

Mateer quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook.  
Mateer advances into close range and walks Renfrew down, trapping him on the ropes.  Mateer throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Renfrew steps to the outside and is on target with a cross.  
Renfrew tries to keep the action at long range.  Mateer tries to land a cross, but Renfrew sidesteps and counters with a left hook to Mateer's body.  
Mateer gets on the inside.  Renfrew hits home with a left hook.  
Mateer quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with an overhand left.  
Mateer steps inside and walks Renfrew into the corner.  Renfrew lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Mateer is on target with a right uppercut.  
Mateer sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  
Mateer pivots to the side of his opponent, but Renfrew lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Mateer recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Renfrew is on target with a jab.  
Mateer pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a solid cross.  
Mateer is looking to close the distance.  Mateer sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Renfrew attempts to land a left hook, but Mateer sidesteps and counters with a solid right hook.  
Mateer pivots to the left of his opponent, but Renfrew is on target with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Mateer quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Renfrew is on target with a left hook.  
Mateer attempts to land a right hook, but Renfrew blocks the shot and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Renfrew is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Renfrew quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Renfrew steps away from his opponent.  Mateer hits home with a solid cross.  
Renfrew lands a cross, overhand right and a jab to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Renfrew's trainer is telling his fighter he is winning comfortably and should get on his bike for the remainder of the fight.

Renfrew tries to step out of his opponents range.  Renfrew drops his hands, and waves his opponent in.  Mateer lands a jab.  Mateer tries to land a jab, but Renfrew blocks the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Renfrew sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Mateer is on target with a jab.  
Renfrew quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a jab to his opponents body.  
Mateer gets on the inside.  Mateer sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Renfrew connects with a left hook.  Renfrew holds on to his opponent.  Mateer is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Renfrew switches the action to the outside and lands a jab, overhand left and a jab to his opponents head.  
Renfrew connects with an overhand right.  
Mateer pivots from in front of his opponent, but Renfrew drives a stinging jab into his opponents face.  
Mateer closes the distance and forces Renfrew to retreat onto the ropes.  Renfrew lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Mateer pivots to the left of his opponent.  Renfrew lands a left hook.  Renfrew ties up his opponent.  Renfrew throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. 
Renfrew lands a sharp overhand right.  
Mateer is looking to close the distance.  Mateer pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left uppercut.

Renfrew is looking to keep his distance and connects with a firm cross.  
Mateer walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Mateer sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Renfrew lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Mateer is on target with a jab.  
Renfrew tries to step out of his opponents range.  Renfrew feints a right hook, and then is on target with a hurtful overhand right.  DOWN GOES MATEER!  HE REMAINS ON THE CANVAS AS THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Renfrew!
