Andy Saul vs Ibrahim Gerges

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 03/07/2038 from Minneapolis, USA:

The Minneapolis venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Andy Saul (66(8) - 11) who hails from Saint Paul, USA and Ibrahim Gerges(4 - 7) from Sana'a, Yemen.  

Round 1: 

Gerges throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a firm right hook.  
Saul lands a spiteful jab.  
Saul steps inside and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Saul lands a left uppercut to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the head.  
Gerges tries to keep the action at long range and strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Saul steps inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Saul clinches his opponent.  Saul pushes his forearm into Gerges's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Saul gets on the inside and tries to land a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a sharp left hook.  
Saul drives a stinging left hook into his opponents liver.  
Saul walks his opponent into a corner.  Saul lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Gerges throws a right uppercut, but Saul holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Saul pushes his forearm into Gerges's face.  The referee warns Saul and breaks the clinch.  
Saul lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Saul holds on to his opponent.  Saul is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Saul uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Gerges's kidney. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Gerges throws a right uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot.  Saul ties up his opponent.  Saul leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Saul's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Saul lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Saul holds on to his opponent.  Saul tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Gerges's kidney. Saul leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Gerges is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Saul lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Saul ties up his opponent.  Saul tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Gerges behind the head. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Saul to stop fouling.  
Saul lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents head, AND SENDS GERGES SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 9.  Gerges almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Saul lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.

Saul lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Saul clinches his opponent.  Saul leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Saul is on target with a solid right hook.  
Saul advances into close range.  Saul sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a MASSIVE right hook.  GERGES IS HURT!  Gerges recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Gerges is looking to keep his distance.  Gerges goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action and gives Saul time to recover.  
Saul lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  Saul clinches his opponent.  Saul leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Saul lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND GERGES IS DOWN!  He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is Saul!
