Fraco Velez vs Roswalt Meinel

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 09/01/2039 from Ponce, Puerto Rico:

The Ponce venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Fraco Velez (5 - 2) who hails from Ponce, Puerto Rico and Roswalt Meinel(3 - 9) from Stuttgart, Germany.  

Round 1: 

Meinel lands a jab.  
Meinel forces Velez to retreat onto the ropes.  Meinel throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents liver.  
Velez tries to keep the action at long range and is on target with a cross.  Velez tries to land a jab, but Meinel sidesteps and counters with a left hook.

Velez switches the action to the outside.  Velez sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Meinel gets on the inside and manages to force Velez onto the ropes.  Velez throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Velez lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Meinel is looking to close the distance and drives a firm left uppercut into Velez's body.  
Meinel lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Velez steps away from his opponent and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Velez quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and connects with an overhand left.  
Meinel gets on the inside.  Velez is on target with a left hook.  
Meinel lands a sharp cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Velez's trainer is telling his fighter he is a mile in front and not to do anything stupid.
