Alec Bunner vs Brendan Merricks

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 09/02/2039 from Leeds, UK:

The Leeds venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Alec Bunner (25 - 19) who hails from Bradford, UK and Brendan Merricks(0 - 1) from London, UK.  

Round 1: 

Merricks lands a jab followed by a left hook to his opponents head.

Bunner gets on the inside and attempts to land a left uppercut, but Merricks slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Bunner attempts to land a jab, but Merricks blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Bunner steps inside.  Bunner sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Bunner throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps.  Bunner holds on to his opponent.  Bunner is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Bunner is on target with a left hook.  
Merricks switches the action to the outside and is on target with an overhand right.  
Merricks switches the action to the outside and lands a cross.  
Bunner steps inside and connects with a left uppercut.  
Merricks hits home with a cross.  
Bunner closes the distance and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  Bunner holds on to his opponent.  Bunner uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Merricks's kidney. Bunner pushes his forearm into Merricks's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Bunner to stop fouling.

Merricks throws a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Merricks pivots to the left of his opponent and connects with a right uppercut.

Bunner manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Bunner digs in a left uppercut to Merricks's body.  
Bunner gets on the inside and throws a right hook, but the shot is blocked.  Bunner ties up his opponent.  Bunner tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Merricks behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Bunner lands a left uppercut.  
Bunner lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Merricks sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Bunner lands a cross.  
Merricks forces Bunner to retreat onto the ropes.  Merricks hits the target with a sharp jab.  
Bunner advances into close range and hits home with a right hook.  
Bunner is looking to close the distance.  Merricks throws a right hook, but Bunner holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Merricks pushes his forearm into Bunner's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.
