Diego Nava vs Ignado Mendosa

Boxing Daily Report from the Ecuador National Finals 2039,  taking place on 11/03/2039 from Duran, Ecuador:

The Duran venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Diego Nava (20(6) - 10) who hails from Manta, Ecuador and Ignado Mendosa(4 - 13) from Quito, Ecuador.  

Round 1: 

Mendosa lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Nava advances into close range.  Mendosa tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Nava lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Nava is on target with a firm right hook to Mendosa's ribs.  Nava clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Mendosa pushes his forearm into Nava's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Mendosa about fouling.  
Mendosa contemptuously drops his hands, trying to provoke his opponent.  Nava lands a left hook.  
Nava closes the distance and hits home with a right hook.  Nava clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Mendosa pushes his forearm into Nava's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Mendosa throws a left uppercut, but Nava holds on to his opponent.  Nava leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Nava's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Nava drives a left hook into his opponents ribs.  
Mendosa pivots from in front of his opponent, but Nava lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Nava hits home with a left hook.  
Nava walks Mendosa down, trapping him on the ropes.  Nava lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Mendosa quickly recovers. 
Nava lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Mendosa pivots to the left of his opponent, but Nava lands a jab.  
Mendosa attempts to land a left hook, but Nava blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Nava feints a right hook, and then hits home with a firm left hook.  
Nava gets on the inside and tries to land a right hook, but Mendosa parries the shot and counters with a solid right uppercut.  
Mendosa throws a left hook, but Nava holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Nava pushes his forearm into Mendosa's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Nava lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Mendosa sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook.

Mendosa steps away from his opponent and hits home with a cross.  
Mendosa sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Nava hits home with a solid cross.  
Nava is looking to close the distance and connects with a firm left hook.  
Nava tries to land a left hook, but Mendosa dodges the shot and counters with a solid left hook to Nava's liver.  
Mendosa switches the action to the outside.  Nava strikes his opponents body with a cross.  
Nava gets on the inside and connects with a solid left hook.  
Nava lands a left uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head.  
Mendosa pivots to the left of his opponent and snaps his opponents head back with a solid jab.  
Nava lands a left hook to the body followed by two right hook's to the head.  
Nava is on target with a left hook.  Nava clinches his opponent.  Nava pushes his forearm into Mendosa's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Nava.  
Nava walks his opponent down, trapping him in the corner.  Mendosa lands a stinging right hook.  
Nava hits home with a sharp right hook.  Nava clinches his opponent.  Nava leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Nava lands a right hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a right uppercut to the body.  
Nava lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Nava holds on to his opponent.  Nava pushes his forearm into Mendosa's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Nava.  
Nava thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Mendosa away.  Nava lands a right hook to the head, a left uppercut to the body and a cross to the head, AND DOWN GOES MENDOSA!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  Mendosa now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Nava lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents head.  Nava clinches his opponent.  Mendosa uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Nava's kidney. The referee warns Mendosa and breaks the clinch.  
Nava lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Nava lands a left uppercut to the head followed by two right hook's to the body.  
Nava lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  
Nava connects with a sharp right hook.  
Nava lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head, AND SENDS MENDOSA TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 5.  
Nava lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head, KNOCKING MENDOSA DOWN!  He isnt going to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Nava!
