Duncan Nairn vs John Bardsley

Boxing Daily Report from the Guyana National Finals 2039,  taking place on 26/03/2039 from Georgetown, Guyana:

The Georgetown venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Duncan Nairn (52 - 17) who hails from New Amsterdam, Guyana and John Bardsley(3 - 1) from Linden, Guyana.  

Round 1: 

Bardsley finds the target with a jab.  
Bardsley steps to the outside.  Nairn is on target with an overhand right.  Nairn attempts to land a jab, but Bardsley sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Bardsley connects with a left hook.  Nairn ties up his opponent.  Nairn pushes his forearm into Bardsley's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Nairn.  
Nairn manages to force Bardsley into the red corner.  Nairn hits home with a left hook.  
Nairn is on target with a left uppercut.  
Bardsley switches the action to the outside.  Nairn finds the target with a jab.  
Nairn gets on the inside.  Nairn sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Nairn forces Bardsley to retreat into the corner.  Nairn is on target with a solid right hook to Bardsley's ribs.  
Nairn throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Bardsley is on target with a cross.  
Nairn finds the target with a hard jab.

Nairn lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  Nairn holds on to his opponent.  Nairn leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Nairn uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Bardsley's kidney. Nairn uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Bardsley behind the head. 
Nairn digs in a solid left hook to his opponents body.  
Nairn lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Nairn steps inside.  Nairn pivots to the left of his opponent.  Nairn lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Nairn ties up his opponent.  Nairn leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Bardsley throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Nairn tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Bardsley behind the head. 
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Nairn's trainer is telling his fighter he is a mile in front and not to do anything stupid.
