Boxing Daily Report from the India National Finals 2039,  taking place on 29/03/2039 from Bangalore, India:

The Bangalore venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Asif Mahdi (89(16) - 31) who hails from Ahmedabad, India and Aseem Bahl(15 - 10) from Kolkata, India.  

Round 1: 

Mahdi snaps his opponents head back with a spiteful jab.

Mahdi closes the distance.  Mahdi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and drives a firm right hook into Bahl's ribs.

Mahdi gets on the inside and tries to land a left hook, but Bahl blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Mahdi throws a right hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Mahdi clinches his opponent.  Bahl leans on his opponent using all his weight. As they grapple, Mahdi pushes his forearm into Bahl's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Mahdi.  
Mahdi is looking to close the distance.  Mahdi quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  
Bahl quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Bahl throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a solid cross.  
Mahdi closes the distance and is on target with a left hook to Bahl's body.  
Mahdi sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Bahl is on target with a firm right uppercut.  Mahdi ties up his opponent.  Mahdi tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Bahl behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Mahdi lands a right uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Mahdi forces Bahl to retreat onto the ropes.  Mahdi lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Mahdi holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Mahdi pushes his forearm into Bahl's face.  The ref breaks Mahdi's hold and signals for the fight to continue.
