Cyryl Grygiel vs Alarik Kataja

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 05/06/2039 from Lodz, Poland:

The Lodz venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Cyryl Grygiel (15 - 21) who hails from Lodz, Poland and Alarik Kataja(0 - 2) from Vantaa, Finland.  

Round 1: 

Kataja steps inside.  Kataja sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.

Grygiel tries to step out of his opponents range.  Kataja lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.

Kataja advances into close range and digs in a solid left uppercut to Grygiel's body.  
Grygiel is looking to keep his distance and lands a jab to the body followed by a overhand right to the head.

Kataja throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
Grygiel tries to step out of his opponents range.  Grygiel feints a left, and then lands a stinging jab.  
Kataja is looking to close the distance and walks his opponent down, trapping him in the corner.  Grygiel throws a right hook, but is off-target.  Grygiel clinches his opponent.  Grygiel is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Kataja pushes his forearm into Grygiel's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Kataja is on target with a right hook.  
Kataja steps inside.  Grygiel connects with a left hook.  
Kataja walks Grygiel into the red corner.  Kataja attempts to land a right hook, but Grygiel blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Grygiel is on target with a sharp right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Grygiel lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Grygiel drives a stinging left hook into his opponents body.  
Kataja is on target with a cross.  
Kataja throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref stops the action and gives Grygiel time to recover.  
Grygiel is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Kataja forces Grygiel to retreat onto the ropes.  Kataja throws a left hook, but Grygiel clinches his opponent.  Kataja leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Kataja pushes his forearm into Grygiel's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Kataja to stop fouling.
