Rodrigo Saldana vs Vasili Konev

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 21/08/2039 from Ponce, Puerto Rico:

The Ponce venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Rodrigo Saldana (35 - 7) who hails from Ponce, Puerto Rico and Vasili Konev(0 - 9) from Novosibirsk, Russia.  

Round 1: 

Saldana steps inside and lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Saldana connects with a sharp left hook.  
Konev walks Saldana down, trapping him in a corner.  Saldana lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Konev steps inside.  Konev attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Saldana's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Konev pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a jab.  
Saldana is looking to close the distance.  Saldana sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Saldana lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Saldana ties up his opponent.  Saldana pushes his forearm into Konev's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Konev digs in a firm right hook to Saldana's body.  
Saldana is looking to close the distance.  Konev attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Saldana to the neutral corner.  He warns Konev to stop fouling or he'll lose a point.  
Saldana lands a firm cross.  
Saldana connects with a left hook.  
Konev forces Saldana to retreat onto the ropes.  Saldana is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  
Konev is looking to close the distance.  Saldana lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Konev attempts to land a right hook, but Saldana blocks the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut.  
Saldana throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Konev sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a cross.  
Saldana advances into close range.  Konev throws a left hook, but Saldana ties up his opponent.  Saldana is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Saldana and breaks the clinch.  
Saldana sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Konev throws a left hook, but Saldana ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Saldana pushes his forearm into Konev's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Saldana cuts off the ring, trapping Konev on the ropes.  Konev is on target with a right hook.  
Konev throws a left hook, but Saldana holds on to his opponent.  Konev pushes his forearm into Saldana's face.  The ref breaks Saldana's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

Konev throws a right hook, but Saldana clinches his opponent.  Saldana throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Konev leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Konev attempts to land a right hook, but Saldana sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Saldana lands a left hook.  
Saldana lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Saldana lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Saldana connects with a right hook.  
Saldana is on target with a right hook.  
Konev finds the target with a jab.  
Saldana lands a right hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents head.

Konev throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Saldana holds on to his opponent.  Saldana leans on his opponent using all his weight. Konev pushes his forearm into Saldana's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Konev.  
Saldana closes the distance and lands a stinging left uppercut.  Saldana holds on to his opponent.  Saldana tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Konev behind the head. 
Saldana walks Konev down, trapping him in a neutral corner.  Saldana lands a right hook followed by  two left uppercuts to his opponents head.  
Saldana lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Saldana attempts to land a left uppercut, but Konev blocks the shot and counters with a stinging left hook.  Konev recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Saldana lands a left hook to the body, a cross to the head and a right uppercut to the head.  
Saldana is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND KONEV IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He remains on the canvas as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Saldana!
