Joel Davidson vs David Drews

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 22/08/2039 from Nassau, Bahamas:

The Nassau venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Joel Davidson (32 - 6) who hails from Nassau, Bahamas and David Drews(6 - 18) from Memphis, USA.  

Round 1: 

Drews tries to land a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Davidson steps inside and digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Drews switches the action to the outside and connects with a cross.  
Davidson hits home with a cross.  
Drews gets on the inside and walks Davidson onto the ropes.  Davidson hits home with a right hook.  
Davidson tries to step out of his opponents range.  Drews throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Drews forces Davidson to back into the ropes.  Davidson throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref ignores Drews's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Davidson is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Davidson feints a cross and triggers a left uppercut counter from Drews.  Davidson springs the trap, countering with  a right hook.  
Davidson lands with a stiff jab.  
Davidson sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Drews is on target with a stinging overhand left.  
Davidson hits home with a cross.  
Davidson is on target with a jab.  
Drews steps to the outside.  Davidson connects with a cross.  
Drews advances into close range and hits home with a left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Davidson's trainer is telling his fighter he is a mile in front and not to do anything stupid.

Davidson lands a solid right uppercut.  
Drews is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Davidson lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Drews lands a cross.  
Drews is looking to keep his distance.  Drews quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Davidson lands a sharp jab.  
Drews is looking to close the distance.  Davidson is on target with a left hook.  Davidson ties up his opponent.  Davidson tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Drews behind the head.

Drews closes the distance.  Drews pivots to the side of his opponent.  Drews tries to land a left uppercut, but Davidson slips the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Drews switches the action to the outside.  Davidson lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Drews attempts to land a cross, but Davidson dodges the shot and counters with a stinging left hook.  
Davidson tries to keep the action at long range.  Drews finds the target with a jab.  
Drews lands a left uppercut.  
Drews is looking to close the distance.  Davidson lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Drews is looking to close the distance.  Drews sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Davidson throws a left uppercut, but his opponent slips the punch.  Davidson ties up his opponent.  Davidson leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Drews uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Davidson's kidney.
