Rodrigo Barragan vs Metody Smolko

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 05/01/2040 from Ponce, Puerto Rico:

The Ponce venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Rodrigo Barragan (34 - 4) who hails from Ponce, Puerto Rico and Metody Smolko(0 - 0) from Sosnowiec, Poland.  

Round 1: 

Barragan is on target with a ramrod jab.  
Barragan lands a solid overhand right.  
Barragan switches the action to the outside and lands a jab followed by  two straights to his opponents head.  
Barragan lands a jab to the head followed by a cross to the body.  
Barragan tries to step out of his opponents range and strikes his opponents body with a jab.

Smolko throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref ignores Barragan's complaints and signals for the action to continue.

Smolko attempts to land a jab, but Barragan blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Smolko feints a cross, but Barragan is not fooled and responds with a stinging right uppercut.

Smolko tries to step out of his opponents range.  Barragan is on target with a stiff jab.  
Smolko cuts off the ring, trapping Barragan on the ropes.  Smolko connects with a cross.  
Barragan closes the distance.  Smolko connects with a sharp right hook.  
Barragan manouvers Smolko onto the ropes.  Barragan pivots to the side of his opponent, but Smolko lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Smolko tries to land a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Barragan attempts to land a right hook, but Smolko blocks the shot and counters with a cross.
