Boxing Daily Report from the Americas Boxing Championships 2040,  taking place on 15/01/2040 from Austin, USA:

The Austin venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Semi Final fight in the Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Peter Trott (58(6) - 17(1)) who hails from New Kingston, Jamaica and Juan Barajas(49 - 19(1)) from Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.

Trott finds the target with a spiteful jab.  
Barajas closes the distance.  Barajas quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent, but Trott lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Barajas pivots to the left of his opponent and drives a right hook into Trott's body.  
Trott is on target with a solid right uppercut.  Trott clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Trott pushes his forearm into Barajas's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Trott switches the action to the outside.  Barajas attempts to land a jab, but Trott blocks the shot and counters with a nasty right hook.  BARAJAS IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  
Barajas pivots to the left of his opponent.  Barajas tries to land a right hook, but Trott parries the shot and counters with a potent cross.  IT LOOKS LIKE BARAJAS WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Barajas quickly recovers. 
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Trott's trainer is telling his fighter he is a mile in front and not to do anything stupid.

Barajas steps inside.  Barajas pivots to the left of his opponent.  Barajas hits home with a right hook.  Trott ties up his opponent.  Barajas uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Trott behind the head. Trott uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Barajas's kidney. 
Barajas pivots to the right of his opponent.  Barajas attempts to land a left uppercut, but Trott slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Trott tries to step out of his opponents range.  Barajas attempts to land a cross, but Trott sidesteps and counters with a sharp left hook.  
Barajas closes the distance.  Barajas pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.

Trott steps away from his opponent and connects with a FEROCIOUS overhand right.  DOWN GOES BARAJAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.

Trott feints a cross, fooling Barajas into launching a right hook counter.  Trott springs the trap, countering with  a right hook to Barajas's ribs.  
Barajas gets on the inside.  Trott throws a right uppercut, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Trott ties up his opponent.  Barajas pushes his forearm into Trott's face.  The ref breaks Trott's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Barajas is looking to close the distance.  Trott throws a left uppercut, but is unable to find the target.  Trott ties up his opponent.  Barajas pushes his forearm into Trott's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Barajas to stop fouling.  
Trott steps away from his opponent.  Trott is keeping his hands low...it looks like he wants his opponent to throw first.  Barajas attempts to land a jab, but Trott parries the shot and counters with a FEARSOME right uppercut.  DOWN GOES BARAJAS!  He is back up on his feet at 4.
